I have been blessed with many spiritual friends, an abundance, truly. Among them are a few that to me are standouts in their level of spirituality, one of whom is Jim McCartney. Here is a quote from his article entitled, “What is Truth?” that I have on my prayer list with which to examine my own heart daily. Interestingly, he wrote the article in 2020 during the last election cycle.“The older I get, beyond a set of core convictions I have about God and life, I often don’t have an absolute answer and am open to learning and developing how I think about different topics. I have grown to appreciate qualities like humility, effort, kindness, grace, respect, desire, and love more than the ability to be persuasive or to win. What matters to you?”
This question, posed by Pilate to Jesus during their final conversation before the crowd called for Jesus’ execution, is haunting me today...
The Kindle version of my most recent book is now available. Toney of Illumination Publishers and I were discussing the fact that the book has not sold as well as we expected and he said that perhaps the word, “cancer,” scares people off. Rest assured that this is not a book about cancer per se, but about lessons learned and insights gained from having it! And when you are staring death in the face, those lessons and insights should be expected to be some of the most valuable possible. I hope you get the book and read it – you won’t be sorry!

Eventually almost 40% of the population will be diagnosed with cancer. Everyone’s cancer battle is unique. Mine had some extremely rare twists and turns that left me at death’s door fighting for life, and yet gave me some amazing insights which I felt compelled to share in print. They are of such a varied nature that no one will finish the book without being thankful for what they learned. As a well-seasoned writer, I can with some certainty predict that to be true, trust me. (Kindle version out next week) If the share option is available, please share!
